In advance of tomorrow's trailer debut, Universal and Legendary Pictures have released a new motion poster for Guillermo del Toro's Gothic horror romance, Crimson Peak. The film stars Mia Wasikowska as a young American woman swept off her feet by a mysterious and seductive English gentleman (Tom Hiddleston). Their courtship leads her to his childhood home, a gigantic "house atop a mountain of blood-red clay" where she uncovers secrets that will haunt her forever.

I'm not usually the biggest fan of motion-posters as they're often just filler between better pieces of promotional material, but I like this one a lot. Between the vibrant, technicolor palette and the raspy whispered warning, "Beware of Crimson Peak," I'm getting a strong Suspiria vibe in all the best ways. The excellent first trailer heralded Crimson Peak as del Toro's "ultimate masterpiece" and everything we've seen so far backs up that claim. I truly could not be more excited for this one.

Crimson Peak also stars Charlie Hunnam and Jessica Chastain and opens in regular theaters and IMAX on October 16th. Poster via Crimson Peak Movie.
