Damon Lindelof Answers PROMETHEUS Questions During Twitter Q&A; Talks LOST Homages, 3D vs. 2D, and Hints at Further Sequels

     May 16, 2012

Just the other day, we posted excerpts from an interview with Damon Lindelof in which the screenwriter talked about many aspects of the upcoming sci-fi pic Prometheus.  The Lost co-creator recently took to Twitter to take part in a Q&A regarding Prometheus, giving the fans an opportunity to beg for more information on the highly anticipated summer film.  We’ve rounded up a few of the more interesting answers Lindelof gave, including hints at possible sequels to Prometheus, the fact that there may be more than one android onboard the spaceship, whether you should see the film in 3D or 2D, and a not-so-subtle homage to Lost.

Hit the jump for a recap of the Q&A, and if you missed this morning’s excellent new viral video featuring Noomi Rapace’s character contacting Peter Weyland, click herePrometheus opens on June 8th.

damon-lindelof-prometheusHere’s a round-up of some of the more relevant questions that Lindelof answered on the official Prometheus Twitter account:

Q: From Clarence on FB: Who decided on the title for the film?

Lindelof: I pitched Ridley “Prometheus” early on and he said, “It’s pretentious and no one can pronounce it!” That’s when I knew we had a winner.

Q: Was Quiet Eye an intentional homage to Lost‘s Dharma Initative videos?

Lindelof: If by “intentional homage” you mean “total ripoff because I rarely have original ideas” then YES!!!

Q: Is Prometheus a film that has answers?… Or does it ask questions?

Lindelof: .@vaIetudo If we did our job right, both. The characters ask questions. They get answers. Then they run and scream a lot.

michael-fassbender-prometheus-imageQ: Is Prometheus ONLY available in 3D?!

Lindelof: .@Gemmayy It was SHOT in 3D and that’s how Ridley wants you to see it, but it if you’re brave enough to DEFY him, it’s also avail in 2D.

Q: Is there more then 1 android aboard Prometheus?

Lindelof: .@Raaskaller Well isn’t that a clever question? In fact, some of the crew are asking it, too.

Q: A LOST character has to join the crew of Prometheus. Who and why?

Lindelof: .@JJMorgan19 Vincent the dog. Because there was a cat in ALIEN and it’s unfair to play favorites.

Q: Hi Damon! Was Prometheus written to allow for possible sequels? Do you like the idea of Prometheus becoming a franchise?

prometheus-charlize-theron-imageLindelof: .@patmc4fun If you like it and want more, there is TOTALLY a design for this story to continue in cool and unexpected ways.

Q: What is your favorite line from the movie?

Lindelof: I refuse to give it away. But it’s something Janek (Idris Elba) says to Vickers (Charlize Theron).

Q: Is Prometheus more of an action film like Aliens or does it have more of the horror aspect in it?

Lindelof: .@AndyFlooood Hopefully, it’s part action, part horror, part thriller, part mystery and there’s like, some kissing and stuff, too.
