I’ve been a fan of Daniel Waters for a long time. As the screenwriter of “Heathers,” “Hudson Hawk,” “Ford Fairlane,” “Batman Returns” and “Demolition Man,” how could I not be. So when I found out I could interview him and Mindy Cohn ("The Facts of Life") for his new comedy “Sex and Death 101,” I jumped at the chance.

If you aren’t familiar with the movie…

Roderick Blank (Simon Baker) is a successful executive and ladies man, who has finally found ‘the one,’ and is getting married in a little over a week. His life, however, is turned upside down when he receives a strange email that includes the names of everyone he’s had sex with…and ever will have sex with.

The list throws Roderick into a dilemma, as it doesn’t end with the name of his wife-to-be, but counts 72 more potential sex partners. His situation goes from bad to worse when he encounters ‘Death Nell’ (Winona Ryder), a mysterious femme fatale who becomes an urban folk hero as she targets men guilty of sex crimes against women.

And yes…this is the first time that Daniel and Winona have worked together since “Heathers.” Anyway, before watching the interview you can see some movie clips and the trailer here.

And for those that want to see the movie, it opens this Friday in

New York/Los Angeles. I’m not sure if or when it’s expanding.
