New posters for a trio of potential Oscar heavyweights have landed online, and they look quite esteemed indeed. We begin with probably the most “Oscar-y” of the bunch, which is Focus Features' The Danish Girl. Scripted by Lucinda Coxon, the film hails from Best Director winner Tom Hooper, of The King’s Speech and Les Miserables fame, and stars reigning Best Actor winner Eddie Redmayne as Lili Elbe, a groundbreaking figure and transgender pioneer. Redmayne is accompanied by Ex Machina standout Alicia Vikander as his co-star, and this new poster is quite beautiful. It’s impossible to ignore the pedigree involved in a film of this caliber, so all eyes will certainly be on this one as it makes its debut during the festival season over the next few weeks.

We’ll get our first look at the film when the trailer debuts on Tuesday, September 1st, so check back here at that time to get a look. The Danish Girl also stars Ben Wishaw, Sebastian Koch, Amber Heard, and Matthias Schoenaerts and opens in limited release on November 27th.

Next up we have director Sarah Gavron’s timely Suffragette, also from Focus Features, which tells the story of the U.K.’s growing women’s suffrage movement in early 20th century Britain. A stellar cast including Carey Mulligan, Helena Bonham Carter, Meryl Streep, and Brendan Gleeson brings this movement to vivid life, and the film opens in limited release on October 23rd.

And then there's Steve Jobs, which joins the formidable forces of director Danny Boyle, screenwriter Aaron Sorkin, and actor Michael Fassbender to bring the life of the Apple visionary to the big screen in a uniquely structured biopic. The new poster is simple, which is fitting, and as a big fan of all involved this tops my “most anticipated” list for the fall movie season. Steve Jobs opens in theaters on October 9th after premiering at the New York Film Festival.
