A couple of new Daredevil Netflix show images have landed online, giving fans a new look at the upcoming limited series from Marvel and the streaming service.  Spartacus alum Steven S. DeKnight acts as showrunner on the upcoming series, though Marvel TV chief Jeph Loeb (who also oversees Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the upcoming Agent Carter) is still intimately involved in crafting Marvel’s first foray into Netflix territory.  In a new piece in EW, Loeb describes Daredevil as “a crime drama first, superhero show second”, and while DeKnight maintains that the series is certainly “grittier and edgier” than what Marvel has done before, the target audience remains all-encompassing so they’re “not looking to push it to extreme violence or gratuitous nudity.”

The EW piece—which debuted the following images—notes that Daredevil will indeed get his iconic red costume in the show, but in the beginning he’ll be wearing these black robes inspired by the graphic novel Man Without FearDardevil is the first in a series of interconnected Marvel Netflix shows, with A.K.A. Jessica Jones set to premiere in 2016 followed by Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and ultimately a team-up miniseries called The Defenders.  As the Daredevil premiere date approaches, Marvel is putting the pieces together for Jessica Jones, recently casting Krysten Ritter in the lead role.  They're also readying the January premiere of ABC's Agent Carter, another network series that will act as a companion to Agents of S.H.E.L.D. (and bridge the gap during its winter hiatus), serving to expand the studio's branding reach even further.
