Here's where I'm at with the second season of Daredevil, the fantastic Netflix-disributed Marvel adaptation starring Charlie Cox as Matthew Murdock and the titular vigilante: there's a puppy calendar on my wall and I'm x-ing out the days, prison release style. Yes, Jessica Jones is the true groundbreaker in terms of Marvel storytelling in movies and television, but to ignore the humongous advances and advantages that are embedded in Daredevil would be wrong and foolish. The return of the series with Murdock and friends would be enough to be excited about but the addition of Jon Bernthal's take on Frank Castle, aka The Punisher, has elevated season 2 to my most anticipated premiere of 2016 currently.

To further tease the arrival of the not-so-cheery Mr. Castle, and to celebrate the Chinese New Year tomorrow, a new promo video has been released with our hero seemingly standing on a roof above Chinatown. You can check out the promotional trailer right below:

It's not much, but as I've pointed out already, this is an obsessive thing at this point. Rumors have been floating around that we will see the Luke Cage series this November, which would make sense considering Jessica Jones premiered last November following the early 2015 debut of the first season of Daredevil. And then there's the recent news that there will indeed be a second season of Jessica Jones, that may introduce Rachael Taylor's character's change into the hero known as Hellcat. Still, seeing Bernthal and Cox square off amidst the chaos of a torn Hell's Kitchen, to say nothing of the arrival of Elektra (Elodie Yung) is the main event for the television year at current, edging out anticipated returns of The Walking Dead, Better Call Saul, Broad City, and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, if only by a sliver. Is it too early to put an X through today?
