With their Netflix series Daredevil, Marvel brought their cinematic universe to a new level with serialized storytelling, grittier real world stakes, and of course, exceptional hand-to-hand combat sequences. While there's a lot to love about Marvel's Daredevil, not least of which are the pitch-perfect performances delivered by Charlie Cox as Matt Murdoch and Vincent D'Onofrio as his villainous counterpart Wilson Fisk, but there's no denying that Daredevil's foremost highlight is the ferocious, unsparing fight choreography liberally sprinkled throughout the first season's 13 episodes.

With the help of fight-coordinator Philip J. Silvera and Cox's agile stunt double Chris Brewster, Daredevil combines the trademark billy clubs, pugilism, and gymnastic athleticism that define Murdoch's fighting style into breathless, kinetic experiences that left fans clamoring to hit play on the next episode. It's a testament to the strength of these sequences that it was merely a matter of hours after the series debut that the "Daredevil hallway fight" became one of those ubiquitous pop culture phenomenons that somehow dominate both your twitter feed and your real life conversations. While there's an abundance of excellent fight scenes in Daredevil, I've (painfully) narrowed it down to the top 5, assembled for your viewing pleasure below.
