Warner Premiere has released the trailer for the upcoming animated film, The Dark Knight Returns, Part 2. Based on the graphic novel by Frank Miller, the story continues with Superman (Mark Valley) being tasked to take down an elderly but still resourceful Batman. This trailer shows off their fight along with Michael Emerson‘s take on the Joker. Of course, no one beats Mark Hamill, but this Emerson isn’t bad. He’s certainly far better than John DiMaggio‘s take on The Joker from Batman: Under the Red Hood. Our own Gil Kellerman liked The Dark Knight Rises, Part 1, so Part 2 should be a solid finish to the adaptation.

You though John Dimaggios joker voice was bad? Well this site is ran by nitpicking nerds
I thought DiMaggio was an awesome fresh take on the character. I love Mark Hamill, and he’ll always be The Joker in my mind, but new interpretations WILL come forward, and DiMaggio’s was excellent. This guy sounds good too. Sort of like an older Hamill, which fits perfectly.
Loved part 1. This looks great as well. And screw the haters Dark Knight Rises was magnificent!
2013? When in 2013? I loved Part 1, and the original source material, of course.
I always thought Dark Knight Returns could be a cool movie. Zack Snyder’s visual style lends well to comic book movies. Have him direct and Bruce Willis as Batman. Look at Willis in 16 Blocks and tell me he doesn’t look just like Bruce Wayne at the opening of Dark Knight Returns
That’s because he looks like Hartigan from Frank Miller’s Sin City… which Bruce Willis also played.
