THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Secret Catwoman Poster Revealed

     May 25, 2012

In addition to the new banner posters for The Dark Knight Rises, we’ve stumbled across this new secret poster featuring Catwoman (Anne Hathaway).  It’s a pretty slick little piece which reminds us that, while Bane (Tom Hardy) might be getting all of the attention as of late, both audiences and Batman (Christian Bale) shouldn’t forget about the feline femme fatale. Director Christopher Nolan’s closing piece to his Batman trilogy also stars Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard and Liam Neeson.  The film opens July 20th.  Hit the jump to see the new poster.

Check out the new poster below (via Batman-News) followed by the official synopsis and a recap of all of our The Dark Knight Rises coverage so far.  Apparently one of the previous posters had a QR code hidden at the bottom, which led to The Dark Knight Rises website and this sweet poster:

    Looks nice

  • AlexHeyNa

Interesting… Everything up to this point suggests that Catwoman will be teaming up with Batman.

  • Chris138

Well, that LA Times article wasn’t lying when they said she’s got serrated edges on her heels.

    • WEV

      oh no! god damn them!

well actually you can clearly see there is a serrated edge on the heel, just saying ;)

      • Jesus

…he said it *wasn’t* lying. Your comment is dumb.

  • Dean

    Devil Wears Prada… Batman-style

  • Jesus

That lipstick kiss of the bat signal is a pretty brilliant touch.

    • sccitylhh

Seriously. This poster and the original teaser with the cityscape tilt shot have been brilliant with their use of negative space.

      • Christian

That lipstick thing makes me think of Harley Quinn though. I’m not one of those people that can’t let go of the Joker. I’m just not that crazy about catwoman, and I love Quinn.

      • Jesus

I do agree, the lipstick thing is more of a Poison Ivy or Harley Quinn thing.

  • Yeti Murphy

cant wait to see the aftermath in that scene where the goon who takes that roundhouse kick from her in the trailer

  • AlexHeyNa

Yes, it’s Catwoman. The two X’s that have been in other Catwoman promo stuff is at the bottom. Plus, there was a description of
Catwoman’s costume in an Entertainment Weekly magazine back during principle photography that said she had spikes on her heels.

Plus, this looks like her boots that we’ve seen in the other pictures/posters of her.

  • Liam_H

Its already been confirmed that Catwoman wears heels that have serrated edges.

  • Jon Snow

What? Yes Capn we’re sure. I mean the amount of information that backs this up, other than the fact that the poster just makes it obvious in and of itself, is plentiful. It’s like you went out of your way to not retain information. And that picture with Miranda Tate? She’s wearing boots, not heels with steel serrated edges. Seriously, it’s like you’re not even trying.

  • Twojawas

*Spoiler* It’s fairly clear from that new picture yesterday (CW standing behind BM on the catwalk) and this poster, that is CW (or two ladies) that hands Bats over to Bane.

  • paul tracy

whoa!!! oh so secrete. Collider, what the jump. hit the jump. catch the jump. don’t forget the jump. actually, the jump is, like, just the “continue reading” cue right after these words. BUT HIT THE JUMP anyway cause it’s so cool!

  • batman

The high heels are absolutely ridiculous and another reason why this is one of the worst Catwoman designs ever. Those shoes completely throw out the whole “her costume doesn’t look like how it’s supposed to look because this is way more practical and realistic!” argument. I’d like for Nolan to explain this one to me.

    • GET OVER IT1

how about just watch the film first, sounds like you could do with getting more out as well ;)

how about just watch the film first, it sounds like you could do with getting out more anyway ;)

AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU ANNE HATHAWAY YOU ARE CATWOMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anna Hathaway is a fine actress but from the trailer footage I saw, she will not a great Catwoman the way Michelle Pfeiffer was in BATMAN RETURNS. You need an actress who can give a grand theatrical performance. It is difficult to portray superhero villains: they are not a realistic character, they are larger than life, and at the same time you have to believe them existing within the space defined by the director.
Anne is great in teen dramas and comedies. I think you need a serious classically trained actors to play Joker, Penguin and the likes: Jack as Joker, Danny De Vito as Penguin (underrated I think), and Ledge did a very good job with a different take on Joker.

    • GET OVER IT!

uughh! Watch the film first dammit, them come back and tell us how you feel about her performance, as we will all be wondering ;)

  • Miss Mash

It’s a shame they didn’t go with Halle Berry. I am disappoint.

    • GET OVER IT!

yeah because her Catwoman was so good, jesus :s

    • deano80

      The worst superhero movie ever

  • harry hartounian

    Michelle Pfeiffer for the win.

  • Migzter13

Saying Michelle Pfeiffer is THE best catwoman ever has got to be the most close-minded thing I have ever heard… for a start, she doesn’t even have ANYONE ELSE to compare with! (that turd with halle berry didn’t exist!)
Seriously, i can’t wait for this movie to come out.. and if Anne Hathaway makes a spectacular performance in contradiction to what these ‘experts’ say… I’ll be smiling ear to @#$% ear!
