With news on The Dark Knight Rises relatively slow at the moment, we’ve scoured the net to see what Batman fans and related entities are up to. Recently we brought you images of some pretty realistic toys for The Dark Knight Rises. Now we have some hi-res shots of those toys for you to check out. Though for some people, that’s not enough. Some people have to make their own figures . And some go a step further and craft their own credit sequence to the movie itself. Bat-fan Dogan Can Gundogdu has crafted a meticulous opening sequence for The Dark Knight Rises that gives us a taste of what the film would look like if David Fincher was the director. Hit the jump to check out the toys and the credits.

Here are some new looks at The Dark Knight Rises toys (via ComingSoon and ToyNewsInternational). Make sure to check out the fan-made credits below:

The fan-made credits are from user D.C. Gundogdu (via FirstShowing). You can check them out below:

Not bad, huh? It’s along the lines of what we could expect from a Fincher film where the villain was Mr. Freeze as a meticulous serial killer trying to draw Batman out of hiding. They’re not exactly original as you might have guessed. Try these opening credits. Anything look familiar?

I am sure that I’m in the major minority here, but I am having the absolute hardest time getting excited for this film. The character design is just atrocious, if you ask me. I hate the Catwoman “costume” and looking at Bane makes me infinitely sad. Neither character looks at all like their comic counterparts, and not in the revelation that was the Joker.

Joker took the character that everyone has known and loved (a psychopathic, deranged lunatic) and moved it in an even more dark way. Bane has taken a very striking character, visually. Larger than life, the get-up…and turned him into an extremely generic looking antagonist who happens to have an S&M-esque Scorpion mask. I’m just…not getting it at all.

I’m saddened by this, I cannot stand the look of Bane…not at all. I’m afraid the entire film is going to be marred by it. He looks like a villain from the Uncharted game series, moreso than a worthy FINAL opponent of Batman.

I’m sorry have you seen the film already? The way you’re writing it off like that I could swear you must have. Or you are just being arrogant…and I’ll go with the latter. Before The Dark Knight came out everyone was appauled by what the Joker looked like. Face paint? REALLY? A very important part of his backstory and they give him facepaint!? Little did we know Heath Ledger was going to create one of the greatest villains in cinema history.

I have seen the prologue for The Dark Knight Rises and from the couple minutes I seen of Bane on-screen I can tell you Tom Hardy is going to knock it out of the park. He created one very, truly menacing character that I can actually believe would kick Batman’s ass. I suggest you actually wait for the movie to come out before saying how bad it sucks.

Bane IS Batman. They’ve both risen from the prison filth to establish themselves as leaders of the innocent. With the Tale of Two Cities comparison, Bane is going to start a lower class uprising placing Batman on the opposing end.

I understand your argument about the cosmetics being completely different but there’s so much more than that. In my mind Batman and Bane look quite similar and that fits when comparing the characters’ motivations and mentalities. The hypernet was in an uproar when Ledger was cast yet for many he defined TDK.

      Pliskin, out.

I think its safe to asume now Bane will blur the line between terrorist and order with Batman the way the Bush administration did.

good for you, dont go watch it then.

If you are judging a film on how good it will be only by the designs of the costume then you don’t understand how films work and you are a fool, even more so seeing as you haven’t even seen the film yet. Characters are more than just their costumes.

While im still on the fence with Catwoman im sure she will be fine, Nolan has done good with Bane imo. The comic version looked like a massive steroid pumped gimp wrestler, giving him a more militaristic style looks well suited to the direction this films looks to go in. Perhaps thats what you like, big muscly gimps in wrestling masks? But in the Nolan-verse of Batman that just aint going to work, sorry, accept it.
Plus to compare Bane to the Joker is just stupid, they are completely different characters, with different missions, motivations and ideals and the good things you mention about him were mainly brought about thru how he was played by Heath Legder, as cool as he looked it was his presence that made him a class villain, you really think the Joker would have ben half as effective if played by say Tom Cruise or some other idiot.
Now Bane im sure will be more than just a bloke in a mask, so best wait to see what he delivers before completely writing him off! And if your unsure of Tom Hardy check him out in Bronson, the guy is nuts!

Still, haters are going to hate

Well done Dogan. Top notch. Opening credits have always been bland and Se7en’s has been the only one to have ever stuck out. Not very Rises, though, but a great opening for an Arkham-inspired feature maybe?

    Pliskin, out.

Although i get the idea, the execution is pretty lame. The editing is very uneven, there is no rythm, and at the end it just look like a guy throwing ice to photos and letter, with no relation whatsoever with the plot or the music. Nice try, but no.

Did anyone else immediately think of Hush as soon as they saw Bruce Wayne’s picture with pieces of his face missing?

The title sequence reminded me of the opening credits to American Horror Story

It’s good but a bit Batman CSI right?

First off – I think the film, from what little we’ve all seen, can still be considered a little too far in the future to be making judgements. Not only do I completely trust Nolan to take us where he wants us to be, but I trust that he and Christian Bale are fully aware of the pressure pressing down on them. Not worried about that at this point…

Haha these titles are pretty cool, but again – the seven title approach is not very original in this case and doesn’t fit in with Nolan’s visual style.

  8. Antony @

Nolan’s Batman movies don’t have opening titles anyway. They don’t even have a title card until the end of the movie. I like it that way.

for the morons ripping on the fan made credits, i dare you to better. oh wait you can’t, you suck at your life and job and have nothing better to do then to disregard something which took a lot of time to put together with the end result being absolutely awesome. fucking nimrods…and oh pockets you’re a god damn moron. costume design really? someone should run over your neanderthal ass you drooling troglodyte.

Great job for the credits. Very Professional.
