As we’re currently in the lull between Awards Movie season and the spring slate of exciting films (ie. January = The Dead Zone), it’s a good time to start planning ahead for those midnight showings we’re already looking forward to. As such, midnight tickets for IMAX showings of The Dark Knight Rises have already gone on sale for some select cities, and Lionsgate has announced the on sale date for tickets to The Hunger Games. Hit the jump for the details.
The folks at /Film have discovered that Fandango has already begun selling IMAX Dark Knight Rises tickets for a select number of theaters in cities like Los Angeles and New York. There’s no guarantee how long these showtimes will remain up, but for now they appear good to go. Head over to Fandango, enter your city, and see if your local theater pops up. The Dark Knight Rises opens July 20th. Here are the sites that /Film has found so far:
- AMC Loews Metreon 16 in San Francisco, CA
- AMC Loews Lincoln Square 13 in New York, NY
- AMC CityWalk Stadium 19 in Los Angeles, CA
Additionally, Lionsgate has announced that tickets for director Gary Ross’ highly anticipated adaptation of The Hunger Games will go on sale February 22nd. If you’re a Hunger Games superfan (or just extremely forgetful), you can register for email or text alerts to remind you when tickets go on sale here. The adaptation is one of my most anticipated films of this year, and I’m extremely anxious to see what Ross has done with Suzanne Collins’ addictively entertaining book series. The Hunger Games opens March 23rd.
