Two More Banners for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

     May 25, 2012

In our slow but inevitable transformation into a site that only runs The Dark Knight Rises news, we have two more banners for the film in addition to the four we ran yesterday.  And to think I would miss the overload of The Avengers marketing.  More than anything, I’m just confused: where’s our onslaught of The Amazing Spider-Man advertising?  The film comes out two weeks before TDKR, and yet we have gotten zero banners.  They may as well stick it in arthouses.

Hit the jump to check out the new banners for The Dark Knight Rises.  The film opens July 20th.

I’m calling that one of these dozens of posters/banners/photos that has been release is actually JGL in the suit, and nobody notices. haha.

    • bruce

JGL is playinga cop that’s it. He’s not even physically fit to be batman LOL.

    • Donovan McLean

THomas I agree completely. I think he is actually speaking as Batman in the third trailer.

    • AlexHeyNa

Give it a freakin’ rest. He’s playing a cop named John Blake.

      THAT. IS. IT.

i agree with alex. jgl will NOT be batman at any point in this movie, because christopher nolan wants this to be a definitive END to his batman saga. the legend ENDS, doesn’t get a new hero, get it? if gordon levitt was really gonna be batman, he would have bulked up quite a bit for this film, and they would have had to cast him waay earlier to give him time to do that. tom hardy’s casting was announced a loooong time before anyone knew he was bane, and way before jgl was announced as part of the cast, precisely so they could let him get huge before any photos got out. and to say that jgl is in any of the marketing as batman is absolutely ridiculous, if he does become batman (which i really, really do not think he will), then that would be classified as beyond top secret for warner bros and nolan, and theres no way they would allow any sort of hint to be in the marketing.

These are starting to get really good. I like the solid white titles MUCH better than those semi-transparent ones. I do wish the font was more “profound “and less “office document”. The negative overlay of the bat symbol makes the titles work much better than pervious posters as well.

(Seriously, I’m hoping who ever chose that font somehow missed the posters for John Carter. Otherwise, why would you emulate that?)

It’s the same font WB/Nolan used for Batman Begins and Dark Knight, they have also used it (or a font very similar) for every one of Nolan’s films since Batman Begins.

Bruce Wayne will have to fight JGL’s Batman at the end. It will be the end.
