Listen to the Full Soundtrack for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

by     Posted 2 years, 52 days ago

The full soundtrack for The Dark Knight Rises is now streaming online.  We previously posted 30-second clips from each track, but now you can listen to the every song in its entirety.  After listening to the first few tracks, I like what I’m hearing.  The aggressive blaring horns from Batman Begins and The Dark Knight have been replaced with aggressive percussion that sounds almost tribal.  Also, if you’d like to hear the track that was used in this trailer, it’s “Gotham’s Reckoning”.  It’s worth pointing out that while Hans Zimmer previously teamed with James Newton Howard on the previous two Batman films, this score is Zimmer going solo.

Hit the jump to listen to the soundtrack, which will be available to buy and download on July 16th.  The film stars Christian Bale, Tom HardyAnne HathawayGary OldmanMorgan Freeman, Michael CaineMarion Cotillard, and Joseph Gordon-LevittThe Dark Knight Rises opens July 20th. [NOTE: The track titles don't have a explicit spoilers like "Death of Qui-Gon" or anything like that.]

Here’s the official synopsis for The Dark Knight Rises:

Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ “The Dark Knight Rises” is the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy.

It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act.

But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane.

Leading an all-star international cast, Oscar(R) winner Christian Bale (“The Fighter”) again plays the dual role of Bruce Wayne/Batman. The film also stars Anne Hathaway, as Selina Kyle; Tom Hardy, as Bane; Oscar(R) winner Marion Cotillard (“La Vie en Rose”), as Miranda Tate; and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, as John Blake. Returning to the main cast, Oscar(R) winner Michael Caine (“The Cider House Rules”) plays Alfred; Gary Oldman is Commissioner Gordon; and Oscar(R) winner Morgan Freeman (“Million Dollar Baby”) reprises the role of Lucius Fox. The screenplay is written by Christopher Nolan and Jonathan Nolan, story by Christopher Nolan & David S. Goyer. The film is produced by Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan and Charles Roven, who previously teamed on “Batman Begins” and the record-breaking blockbuster “The Dark Knight.” The executive producers are Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan, Kevin De La Noy and Thomas Tull, with Jordan Goldberg serving as co-producer. The film is based upon characters appearing in comic books published by DC Comics. Batman was created by Bob Kane.

    Track 13 is pure eargasm.

This score will spin for a very long time in my stereo.

    • Joe

      Holy smokes Batman!
      My ears just came.

Seriously. These tracks are so good I felt a chill in my spine.
Why oh why are there still 10 days left! :(

This IS the movie event of the year.

Track 11 – Why Do We Fall? – So that we can learn to pick ourselves up. The music clearly and perfectly conveys a turning point in the film.

It’s too good. I’m like a kid in a candy store, all wide-eyed wonder.

  • Phil

The last track sounds so beautiful, it’s just I think you can guess what happens in the end, probably should avoid the last track

  • TheHOYT

Damn! For some reason Adobe Flash isn’t working on any of my web browsers. I really want to listen to this … :-(

  • Cole Phelps

According to iTunes, there are a few other tracks listed. Not sure if they’re bonus tracks or whatnot, but they’re titled Bombers Over Ibiza (Remix), The Shadows Betray You, and The End.

    • Cole Phelps

One Wiki search later and yes, they are digital bonus tracks. But it makes me wonder whether “Rise” won’t be the final scene, since there is a track, after all, called “The End”…

  • Romanovich

I just can’t wait to see it, seems like everyone involved tried their best to finish the story the best way they could.

But the music is fantastic, the last track is simply amazing.

Guys, I could get tickets for the Mexico City premiere and a chat with the actors. You know how [frick]ing awesome that would be. Please help me out, all you gotta do is take 2 seconds and “like” this picture.

I’ll be eternally grateful if you do!

I’m sad that this journey is coming to an end.

    • Grayden

Don’t be sad, be thankful we got 3 films that finally did one of the greatest superheroes of all time justice. Given to us by one of the greatest filmmakers of this generation. Though I lament that this is the last of Nolan’s Batman, I’m excited to see what he does next. The man does not make bad, even mediocre, films.

Which track is featured during the 2nd half of the Nokia trailer that got released? I didn’t hear it as I quickly scanned through all of these songs.

  • Colin

I’m trying to find the track that the Nokia trailer uses in it’s 2nd half but didn’t find it in any, though I scanned through pretty quick, has anyone found it?

  • Scotty

wheres the eerie piano song from trailer 3?

  • Eric Nixon

At 1:43 of track 14 – Necessary Evil – it sounds like the Star Spangled Banner, during the lines “And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air.” Probably just me. Anyone else hear it?

  • Grayden

Welp, this movie is going to sheer brilliance if one were to judge it based solely on the score. (which is crazy, i know)

  • Jane

The last track is killing me … Oh my gawd, I can’t wait. Beyond excited.

  • Phil Beta

Hope this time those douches at AMPAS can withstand the beauty of Hans Zimmer’s work.

Though totally different genres, Zimmer bests Reznor making soundtracks IMO. I’ll never forgive the academy for taking away that award from Zimmer.

  • Jahanzeb

EPIC! It’s killing me, especially track 13 (Imagine The Fire). Gotham’s Reckoning, Underground Army, The Fire Rises, Mind If I Cut In, awesome awesome job by HZ. And btw such an awesome chant theme for Bane. Still 9 days to go.

  • abs

Take two notes, make them a bit faster here, a bit slower here, bit louder here, a bit softer here. Typical Zimmer sound that can be found on many of his other soundtracks.

Where are the John Williams and Jerry Goldsmiths of today? Should’ve given Man of Steel to Michael Giacchino.
