THE PRESTIGE-style Trailer for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Is Surprisingly Cool

Like most everyone, I’m incredibly excited for The Dark Knight Rises. It’s the culmination of Christopher Nolan’s Batman saga and I can’t wait to see how he closes things out. However, I’m not as excited for the countless fan-made Dark Knight Rises trailer cuts/mash-ups/parodies headed our way over next few months. So it’s with a great deal of skepticism that I went into this Prestige-style trailer for The Dark Knight Rises. As it turns out, this fan-made cut is actually really cool. It takes Michael Caine’s “three parts to a magic trick” speech from Nolan’s 2006 magician film and applies it to the three films in Nolan’s Batman trilogy. It fits surprisingly well, and it’s definitely worth checking out if you’ve got two minutes to spare.

Hit the jump to take a look. The Dark Knight Rises opens July 20th.

That was pretty good. The idea and execution were clever. Not very well-made, though. Not that I could do any better..

    Nice nice.

Wow. That was exceptional. Goosebumps throughout with a great rush (as usual) from that fantastic musical theme that’s been used throughout the trilogy. Wow…just wow.

i read a cracked article putting those two concepts together several weeks ago. i cant remember the author or name of the article, but this must have been inspired by that. Pretty cool seeing it mashed up visually.

Ctually in the comics bane is bruces fathers iliagitmate (spelling sorry) son so they may go that way. But I am sure there going to do the night fall saga where bane does break batmans back but if they did that they would have to make alot of changes fron the story like jason todd came in as batman for a while and there was even a african american dude who took up the cowl for awhile.

When you watch videos like this, you have to admire how great the Nolans’ works have been (Jonathan’s writing and Chris’ direction): Memento, The Prestige, Batman Begins + TDK, Inception, etc … All have been complex and deep. They take their time and make sure their works are excellent. Are they the greatest? Of course not. But every movie they make brings them closer to it.

Hopefully Chris can fix any problems on the next Superman reboot…
