Mostly absent from The Dark Knight Rises marketing thus far is the man behind all of Batman’s wonderful toys, Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman).  However, a new TV spot shines a light on the mischievous inventor/Wayne Enterprises CEO, and wonders how Batman (Christian Bale) can really go into retirement when there are so many new gadgets to play with.

When I heard the spot narrator say “The Dark Knight Rises” I thought now there’s a tongue twister.

I just watched Batman Begins a few hours ago and came to a conclusion, which could just be plain wrong and my imagination going into over drive.

But the comments I’ve read on this about JGL being Robin or Nightwing I’ve brushed off so far, but how about JGL being the kid from Begins?

Remember the kid on the balcony, the scene where Batman gives him one of is gadgets so the kid can prove to his friends that Bats was real?

The kid looked upto Batman as you can clearly tell from that scene, and from what we’ve seen from the trailers of TDKR, JGL looks up to Bats in the same way, and this is 8 years after TDK, so the age of the kid could well fit in with the age of JGL’s John Blake charachter.

Perhaps the kid in Begins is John Blake as his name is never mentioned and he could have been inspired by bats and went on to fight crime in his own way…i.e as a cop?

Does anyone agree or am I thinking way too much into this lol?

As long as they can explain how the kid went form being blonde to having JGL’s black hair, pretty neat connection.

That’s the only thing I can think of that sort of makes sense and would be a surprise to the audience, would also tie in with Begins and Nolan is stated as saying he wants to bring the trilogy full circle, meaning exploring the aspects of Begins and TDK to fully end the trilogy.

The kid from that scene I’m meaning, the narrows was there to show just how bad the narrows really were. He was alone, a neglected child, standing out in the rain while his parents fought and argued inside. He wasn’t a bitter kid, he was hopeful, even in the rain with what was going inside with his parents. He represtented the goodness in Gotham that Bats is fighting for, so to make him John Blake would be a nice little tie in, I think anyway…but yeah, the hair colour part, damn you lol!

The only other thing that I can think of is that John Blake is Gordon’s son and its an alias for his own protection, son following in fathers footsteps perhaps, and we’ve all seen Gordon in the hospital bed in the first teaser. His son could be stepping up, taking his place. Also he could know Batmans true idendity and being Gordon’s son be the only one trusted by Gordon and Bats?

Just a thought! Damn I’m waaay to excited.

Hair color sometimes changes from blond to dark by around age ten. Happened with both my sister and my brother-in-law. Will probably happen with my older son.

Plus, the kid (Jack Gleeson) has become a bigger star since he started playing Joffrey Baratheon in Game of Thrones, so if the character John Blake is the same as the little kid then I’m sure Nolan could’ve gotten Gleeson to reprise the role for The Dark Knight Rises.

And as far as John Blake stepping into Batman’s shoes, I think that’s just wishful thinking. Nolan has been known to cast high profile/recognizable actors to play smaller roles.

Well, TDK is on about a year to 6 Months after BB, and that kid cant be older than 10 or 11. Even after 8 years, he’d only be 19 or 20. John Blake looks like hes in his late 20s, early 30s.

I wonder if the cane comes before or after Bane gets hold of him & drops him down that massive hole they keep showing on basically everyone of the early previews?

I hate to be “that guy” but I’d love to read a leaked script…for some reason…I totally wanna go into this one spoilt like rotten milk!!!

Finally we know the batwing is a separate vehicle to the tumnbler instead of ppl speculating it transforms from the car a la batpod

i think it would be good if robin is in it, not like the cartoons or anything but he’s a vigilante copycat or somone who watches over batman, it can be very dark and work well

…and how is that a bad thing?
      Geeks FTW!

So far the thing that makes the least sense out of all they’ve shown …
… is how Bruce Wayne appears to age ahead, and yet style backward to the ’70s.
