One of the many cool things to see outside of Comic-Con this year is DC Entertainment’s Darkness & Light art show. Featuring original paintings and drawings of your favorite Justice League characters, the show is aimed at raising awareness and funds for the hunger crisis in the Horn of Africa. The show is part of a bigger initiative called We Can Be Heroes which you can learn about here.
If you’re in the San Diego area, I suggest stopping by to see the art for yourself. It’s running until July 15th at the Michael J. Wolf Fine Arts Gallery. However, if you’re not in the area, or you’d like to see what’s on display right now, I took pictures of almost everything there. Hit the jump to check it out.

Would love to see some of these become prints for sale!
a lot of mediocre artwork here, i’m better than all of these losers combined.
Prove it. Put your name on it.
Mostly shit apart from The Flash and The Gotham Opera ones which are top notch.
With a name like that, I’m sure you are! lol
(Because this was clearly a contest, right?)
I dig a lot of what I see. Couple examples similar to fan art in Comic Shops, but many more that reference DC ouvre thru a fine-art , almost conceptual artistic lens.
Can’t disagree w/ Jewberg completely. But for a group show, if they’re open to submissions, not a bad thing if it can only go up from here! =D
As a long time comics fan and a professional artist myself, I’d like to see what you guys do consider a good group showing. To have so many awesome pieces from such a range of artists all together is quite impressive. I’m going to guess you took one art history class in college and now know everything there is to know about art.
an autistic kid i work with at a school drew me a poster of spiserman, after going to see it for our school trip. Ok his arms look like sausages and the web comes from his palms but i could still see it up next to some off that stuff (which i like). These are characters we love, I’d go and see a collection drawn by 5 year olds if i had the chance

I went through a lot of this art work and saw that I recognized an artist – S Richard – she does fabulous work! You can see her at SaraRichard.com How wonderful to see her art in this show. Good choice!!!
