Just over a month ago, director Darren Aronofsky dropped out of The Wolverine at the last minute. The project, which was set to start filming in March, was left in a state of limbo without a director and with their shooting location of Japan ravaged by a giant earthquake. Now, it looks like Aronofsky is closing in on his next directorial effort following last year’s critical lauded Black Swan.
Vulture reports that Aronofsky is eyeing the sci-fi film Human Nature. The spec script by Jeff Welch, which has been around for 15 years, centers on “man who is cryogenically frozen and wakes up years later to a world in which humans have become pets of another species.” George Clooney is attaching himself to star, with producer Akiva Goldsman (I Am Legend) currently budgeting the flick. If everything works out, this is expected to be the director’s next project. Aronofsky, Clooney and sci-fi? Count me in.
Wasn’t Human Nature the name of a Michel Gondry movie? God i hate when there are several movies qith the same name.
on another note it does sound cool
To be honest… I prefer this to Wolverine. I’m a bit sick of 20th Century Fox and the Xmen / Wolverine thing. I’m also a bit sick of Hugh Jackman. It’s all become a bit stagnant. So something fresh feels like a good move for him.
Clooney needs to do GRAVITY first before moving onto this other sci-fi movie!!!!!!!!!!!
screw you Darren. you always attach yourself with “fanboy favorite” projects then you dropped out. i love Black Swan. i think it’s a masterpiece(your best film). but it irritates me that you attach yourself to bad franchises, which excites us because we hope you’ll save it, but then you drop out at the last minute. how about you just don’t attach yourself so we won’t get our hopes up.
i remember after seeing Black Swan, “F***, this guy is gonna direct a comic book movie”. then he drops out. my world collapsed.
Yeah he had to drop out because he was divorcing his wife and was trying to get custody of the kids etc which would have clashed with filming.
There are things in life that are a bit more important than an imaginary cartoon hero with witch knives coming out of his hands fella.
@ rbvanx
You’re bad informed:
1. He was never married
2. He shares custudy with Rachel Weisz since November.
Everone knows the family was a lame excuse.
George Clooney as Fry from Futurama.
