According to various reports, actor David Carradine has committed suicide by hanging himself in a hotel room in Bangkok while working on his latest film, “Stretch”. He was 72.
Best known for his leading role as “Kwai Chang Caine”, a Shaolin priest traveling the 1800s American frontier West on the TV Show “Kung Fu”, Carradine had made a bit of a resurgance in recent years due in no small part to his fantastic performance as the title character in Quentin Tarantino’s “Kill Bill” films. I wish I had more familiarity with Carradine’s work but I will say that his “Superman” speech in that film is unforgettable.
Our deepest condolences go out to his friends and family.
