After the Simian Flu wipes out most of the U.S. following Rise of the Planet of the Apes, humanity clearly put less emphasis on keeping its major cities clean. 20th Century Fox has released new Dawn of the Planet of the Apes promos showing the decay of San Francisco, New York City, and London. I assume they considered including Detroit, but it would’ve just been a static image.
Hit the jump to check out the promos. If you missed any of Steve’s set visit coverage, be sure to check out interviews with Andy Serkis, Toby Kebbell, Keri Russell and Gary Oldman, Reeves, and cinematographer Michael Seresin. The film also stars Jason Clarke, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Kirk Acevedo, and Enrique Murciano. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes opens July 11th. The new trailer premieres this week.
Here’s the official synopsis for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes:
A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.
