One of the films that will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival this September is Daydream Nation, from writer/director Michael Goldblach. Kat Dennings, Josh Lucas, Reece Thompson, Andie MacDowell, and Natasha Calis star in the coming-of-age story in which a teenage girl (Dennings) moves to a rural town (currently plagued by a serial killer) and sparks up an affair with a teacher (Lucas). Check out the trailer after the jump.
Here’s the official synopsis:
In this darkly comedic coming-of-age story, a teenage girl moves from the city to a small town, only to find she has absolutely nothing in common with the stoner-hicks who populate her high school. So Caroline Wexler begins an affair with the one person she connects with: her handsome young teacher. But with a serial killer on the loose and townsfolk disappearing around them, their relationship takes a turn for the worse—and when Caroline breaks it off in favor of a boy her age, the rejection makes her teacher crazy, driving the film towards its surreal, heartbreaking, wildly romantic conclusion.

Looks good and Kat Dennings is just yummylicious .
I don't know if there's any way they could've made Kat Dennings look any younger in this thing; maybe the director wanted to push the comfort zone of the audience with the sex between her and Josh Lucas, who has a near-beard and looks *older* than usual. Kat Dennings is so naturally sultry, but this trailer is pushing my buttons a little bit now and not in a good way but in a 'show me on the doll' sort of way.
