Comic-book superheroes are coming to cable TV, or they soon will be if TNT's newest project lands a pilot order.  DC's Titans property is the latest live-action adaptation that could be appearing on your TV screens sooner than later.  For the uninitiated, the comic run (which has already been featured on television in animated form) centers on Dick Grayson, who moves on from his time as Batman's sidekick and becomes a hero of his own making in the form of Nightwing.  He's not alone in his fight against crime, as his fellow Titans Raven, Starfire, Cyborg, and more complete the title team.  Hit the jump for more on this latest possible adaptation.

As THR reports,

titans-2018

Warner Horizon Television and DC Comics' Titans is nearing a pilot-production order at TNT.  Akiva Goldsman and Marc Haimes are on board the project as writers, with Goldsman executive producing and Haimes acting as co-EP.  Goldsman fans may be interested to know that the Fringe writer also has a TV adaptation of the 1990 film Ghost headed to Paramount TV, as well as WGN America's slavery drama, Underground.

Though you can be sure that Titans will feature Dick Grayson/Nightwing at the forefront, it's unclear at this point just which other heroes will join him in his fight.  The property, which has seen a number of restructurings in comicbook form, has been adapted for television in animated form as Teen Titans on Turner's Cartoon Network.  If it's picked up, Titans would join other small-screen superhero shows Arrow, Gotham, The Flash, Constantine, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Agent Carter, Daredevil, and a possible Supergirl series.

I'm curious to see which version of the Titans makes it onto the screen: the teenage characters that brought a lot of humor and heart, or the older comicbook versions who delved into more mature relationships and consequences.  Fans of the superhero group, be sure to let us know what you think about a possible live-action series in the comments below!
