Tyler Hoechlin's Superman is coming to Supergirl for Season 2 and he's bringing an old comic book foe with him. Frederick Schmidt will bring Metallo to Supergirl for at least two episodes, starting with the Season 2 premiere. Supes' old rival first debuted in a 1959 issue of Action Comics and has since popped up regularly in Superman lore throughout the decades, including a turn from Brian Austin Green in Smallville's ninth season. Now, the character will square off against double the "Super" when he comes up against Superman and Melissa Benoist's Supergirl.

EW has the details on how Metallo will make his debut:

When international assassin John Corben is badly injured after taking on both Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and Superman (Tyler Hoechlin), he is reborn by a shadow organization into the Kryptonite-powered supervillain Metallo.

What do you guys think? Are you happy to see more Superman characters pop up in Supergirl? Is Metallo the right villain to bring to the table? Sound off in the comments.
