With the new Liz Feldman series Dead to Me now streaming on Netflix, I recently sat down with Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini to talk about their addictive dark comedy. If you haven’t seen the trailer, the show follows two women, Jen (Applegate) and Judy (Cardellini), who become unlikely friends after meeting in a grief support group. As Jen starts to become closer to Judy, though, it becomes apparent that her new friend is not who she seems. Dead to Me also stars James Marsden, Ed Asner and Brandon Scott.
During the interview, Applegate and Cardellini talked about why they think the show is a "traumedy", their first meeting and if they were nervous the night before, if they were pitched on a long term plan for the series, why they both want to work with cool and fun people, and more. In addition, they revealed what TV show they’d love to guest star on, their first movie or TV show crush, and that Cardellini has been on The Price is Right and Family Feud.

Jen (Christina Applegate) is a sardonic widow determined to solve her husband’s recent hit-and-run murder. Judy (Linda Cardellini) is an optimistic free spirit who’s recently suffered her own tragic loss. When the two women meet at a support group, they become unlikely friends despite their polar-opposite personalities. But as they bond over bottles of wine, Entenmann’s cookies and a shared affinity for The Facts of Life, Judy desperately tries to shield Jen from a shocking secret that could destroy her life as she knows it.
