One of the cleverest things about Deadpool 2--and there are lots of clever things to be sure--is that the title character's costume obscures his face and mouth. That's not a knock on the perennial "People Magazine's Most Attractive Dude" or whatever, nor is it a strike against Wade Wilson's gruesome visage, it's an earnest bit of praise. The added bonus of Wade Wilson's cowled cover-up is that Ryan Reynolds can riff on a joke as many times as he wants and the ADR can more easily be incorporated into the same scene for multiple different takes.

Case in point, the newly released green-band trailer for Deadpool 2. In addition to a catch-up for folks who either missed the original film or were tripped out of their minds at the time and need a refresher, there's also a bonus take on a joke and a smattering of additional footage in this new look. We'll get to see more once David Leitch's Marvel antihero movie arrives May 18th.

Check out the (not at all) kid-friendly version of the new Deadpool 2 trailer below:

And here's the official, nonsensical synopsis:

After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfil his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavour – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.
