Composer Junkie XL (a.k.a. Tom Holkenborg) has been having a busy 2015 with scores for Mad Max: Fury Road, Run All Night, Black Mass, Kill Your Friends, and Point Break, and he’s now got not one but two major superhero movies on tap for 2016. In addition to working with Hans Zimmer on the score for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Junkie XL tweeted out that he’ll be providing the score for Deadpool:

Junkie XL’s score for Mad Max was tremendous, and I’m curious to hear what he and director Tim Miller have planned for Deadpool. Will it be something more hard rocking that lines up with the action, or it will it be something more playful like the irreverent protagonist? Will it be a send-up of soaring superhero scores since Deadpool is a satirical character? There are a lot of places Junkie XL could go with it, and at the very least it should be an interesting listen.

Deadpool opens February 12, 2016, and stars Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlysle/Copycat, T.J. Miller as Weasel, Gina Carano as Angel Dust, Ed Skrein as Ajax, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Andre Tricoteux as Piotr Rasputin/Colossus.

Here’s the official synopsis for Deadpool:

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
