Scheduling Conflicts May Prevent Robert Rodriguez from Directing DEADPOOL

Robert Rodriguez may not be telling the tale of the “Merc’ with the Mouth”.  Deadline reports that Fox wants Rodriguez to helm the X-Men Origins: Wolverine spinoff Deadpool starring Ryan Reynolds, but scheduling is the major issue.  Both Reynolds and Rodriguez are busy gents and there’s difficult finding a window when they’re both available.  Reynolds is attached to numerous projects (just last night we reported that he had signed on to co-star with Bradley Cooper in buddy-cop action-comedy) and is planning to shoot Safe House with Denzel Washington early next year.  As for Rodriguez, he’s got Spy Kids 4 on his plate.  He tells Deadline, “If they push it back, it would be a lot better for me.”  Of course, then the question becomes whether pushing it back would be a lot better for Reynolds.

Rodriguez’ new film, Machete, opens Friday and stars Danny Trejo, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Jeff Fahey, and Robert De Niro.

Please no Ryan Reynolds for this film, not only is he cast in most comic book films but his comedy aspect is so lame. There is so many talented actors out there than the same old recycled actors. Not to be hash but hollywood really needs an overhaul SERIOUSLY. Christopher Nolan, Robert Rodriguez, Darren Aronofsky and a few other rebel directors out there are the only ones pushing to bring something fresh to the screen. Please Hollywood, stop following trends and the remakes are getting old!!!!

I agree. Ryan is dangerously close to over exposed at this point. Get Scott Atkins (who played Weapon XIII in the end of the film) to play Deadpool. He wouldn’t need a stunt double and we already know he can act (He has an acting resume as well as stunt work). I don’t like the trend of casting Names in Super Hero movies simply because if they become a franchise they become too expensive to continue. If The Avengers is a hit, just imagine the budget needed for a follow up! Do it like Harry Potter, Cast unknowns and let them grow WITH the franchise. Xmen done that way would rock out loud (It’s what I hoped they were doing with First Class, but alas… just more of the same crap).

Ditto, most American directors should look at how most foreign films are made, they are made with originality and groundbreaking approaches to film. And the 3D crap is getting old, SERIOUSLY. I mean every film coming out of hollywood today and most don’t need the 3D treatment are make with the technology, very sad but that is what you get when ppl are like sheep (following trends) SMDH, sad but it is a fact, some ppl don’t like reality, they like fake.

I want this movie to happen so bad! I know Marvel will never get the rights for deadpool or any of the X-men back so I can only hope for a quality product. Push it back as much as you need to but I want to see a Deadpool movie that is done justice.

The only reason this movie is getting made is because of Ryan. As a fan of Ryan and Deadpool. I can’t see anyone else in the part. Ryan was born to play this character.

And Ryan over-exposed? To who, to the people who visit movie websites? Yea, probably but to the regular guy out there. Doubt it.
