With the release of Marvel’s Captain America: The First Avenger on Blu-ray, you know you can expect some fantastic special features. Marvel has posted one of seven deleted scenes that you’ll see on the Blu-ray. This one features an opening montage of Cap in one of the USO shows, followed by Dum Dum Dugan (Neal McDonough), Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) and the rest of the strike team as they face down advancing enemy troops. They’re in for a bit of a surprise when HYDRA unveils its secret weapon. Hit the jump to check it out.

You can find the clip below. We’ve brought you some other notable shorts in Marvel’s Avengers universe, both featuring Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg). There was “The Consultant” on the Thor Blu-ray, which shows the everyday non-action behind the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. More recently, “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor’s Hammer” from the Captain America Blu-ray showed a humorous take on the more action-oriented side. Just another day in the life of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Though not enough to tide you over until Captain America 2 comes to theaters in 2014, it might just get you through the winter when The Avengers debuts in 3D on May 4th, 2012. Look for Captain America: The First Avenger on Blu-ray on October 25th.

  1. Too bad I have to sit through a trailer with that Justin Timberlake guy in it to see the Cap clip. And it keeps on getting frozen, so I have to keep on refreshing the page and am forced to watch it again. I wouldn’t watch a movie with him in it, even if I was given a free ticket…

    • Eeeexactly – this is the crap thing about this site. You have to watch ads to see clips (which are ads). Like there isn’t enough advertizing going on in this site as it is. The articles are ads, the interviews are all essentially ads, the clips are ads…every inch of the screen is an ad and, to top it off, they actually run ads in front of the ads. Ridiculous. The is site is really is garbage.

  2. What makes that scene so amazing is the revelation at the end that Hydra had mastered “Tron” style CGI… in the 1940s!

That Hydra Recognizer just kicks ass!

  3. This is what I really wanted. More Band of Brothersish World War II action. Cap fighting alongside the Howling Commandos; not saving their butts. I also can’t stand the futuristic weapons. Equip Hydra with some MG42′s not goddamn laser cannons

  4. Cap looks amazing on blu-ray. Its fantastic & I have ZERO complaints about the film & the transfer…so far, for me atleast, this has been the best film that Marvel has put out to date…& I loved Thor & Iron Man.

Can’t wait for the Avengers to rockit to the top.
