We just learned that Showtime is bringing Dexter back to Comic-Con in San Diego this year, so you can be sure there will be a great new trailer shown that will hint at the problems to come for everyone’s favorite serial killer, Dexter, played wonderfully by Michael C. Hall. However, until then, fans will have to settle for this new promo Showtime just released. There isn’t any footage from the new season, but it has a whole new voice-over from Dexter complete with somewhat of a recap from the last scene of season six. It’s definitely a spoiler for those who haven’t finished the last season, so proceed with caution. See the trailer after the jump.

Last chance to turn away for those of you who haven’t caught up with the latest season of Showtime’s Dexter. Check out the trailer for the upcoming seventh season below:

As you can see, the promo is leading into what is bound to be one of the biggest plot points of the new season: how will Dexter’s sister, Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) deal with finding out about his dark passenger?  Will the writers figure out a way for Dex to get out of his increasingly slippery slope as a killer, or will they finally bring Deb in on the secret? We’ll likely find out at Comic-Con next month, so stay tuned for more on Dexter and all the good stuff that we’ll have coming out of San Diego at the 2012 Comic-Con.

Dexter returns on September 30th at 9/8c on Showtime.

  1. One of the BigWigs already let it slip when they talked about this season. I am going to be as vague as possible so that I don’t spoil anything for anybody (I’m not Collider), but if you want to look back and find the article that I think was on this site, you could find out what he says about the Dexter / Deb dynamic and its a pretty easy conclusion to come to in terms of what they are talking about. They never meant to let anything slip, but their words were easily interpretable.
