Director Alex Proyas Exclusive Video Interview KNOWING

Opening this Friday at theaters everywhere is director Alex Proyas’ (“Dark City”, “The Crow”, “I, Robot”) new movie “Knowing”. The film is an action-thriller and it stars Nicolas Cage as a professor who finds a document that lists the dates, death tolls and coordinates of every major disaster of the past 50 years. But as he studies the document further, he discovers it also lists three disasters that have yet to happen. As a result, he tries to prevent them from happening.

So to help promote the film, last weekend in New York City was the press junket and I was able to speak with Alex Proyas. During our extended conversation we covered all the usual subjects, but for me the coolest part of our interview was hearing him talk about the digital revolution and how it’s changed him as a filmmaker. Also, when he saw my canon HD camera, he wanted to know all about it and it led to us talking about consumer cameras and how they’re letting anyone make a movie. While some interviews are all about the movie, what’s great about our conversation was how it covered tons of other subjects. Of course if you’re curious what Alex might be doing next, I asked about “Dracula” and what else he might do.

If you’re a fan of Alex’s work, I really think you’ll like this interview.

Finally, if you’d like to watch some movie clips and read the synopsis for “Knowing”, click here. Of course a big thank you to Alex for giving me so much of his time.
