With The Muppets now playing, all week I’ve been posting exclusive video interviews with the cast. The past few days I posted my conversations with Amy Adams, Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy, Jason Segel and Walter (the newest Muppet) and today I’ve got director James Bobin. But before getting to the interview, as I’ve said all week, I absolutely loved The Muppets. It’s one of my favorite films of the year and it not only made me laugh, it also made me cry. If you were nervous about the movie…don’t be. It’s a huge home run.
During the interview, Bobin talked about the positive reviews, which lesser known Muppets had to be in the movie, are there any Easter eggs to watch for, deleted scenes, and how the cameos never overtake the movie. Hit the jump to watch.
James Bobin
- The reaction from the people that have seen it as it’s being praised by everyone
- Who was the Muppet that he insisted get into his film
- Are there any Easter Eggs fans should look out for
- Were there any deleted scenes and will be on the Blu-ray/DVD
- How the cameos never overtake the movie

The cameos not overtaking the movie? Really? If your characters have to point out who the actor is each time on screen then that’s overtaking. They should have done each cameo like in the first film, or what they did with Alan Arkin and Zach. Where they’re just a part of the film like any other actor. Not something to keep beating over the head of the audience.
