Lionsgate has released a new red-band trailer for the upcoming comedy Dirty Grandpa. Directed by Dan Mazer (Borat), the film stars Zac Efron as a straight-laced lawyer who is tricked into driving his foul-mouthed grandfather (Robert De Niro) to Daytona for spring break. Shenanigans ensue. While this trailer isn’t necessarily funnier than the one released previously, it at least provides some context for the odd vibe De Niro was giving off in the green-band trailer. Indeed, every other word out of the character’s mouth is a profanity or something dirty, as hinted at in the movie’s title. Is it funny? There are a couple of chuckles to be found in this latest trailer, but while Efron really shined in Neighbors, I’m not sure his comedic chops are being put to their best use as the straight man.

Regardless, De Niro says some things about Queen Latifa and Aubrey Plaza gets her grandpa flirt on in the NSFW red-band trailer, which you can watch below. The film also stars Julianne Hough, Zoey Deutch, Jason Mantzoukas, Danny Glover, Dermot Mulroney and Adam Pally. Written by John Phillips, Dirty Grandpa opens in theaters on January 22nd.

Here’s the official synopsis for Dirty Grandpa:

Jason Kelly [Zac Efron] is one week away from marrying his boss's uber-controlling daughter, putting him on the fast track for a partnership at the law firm. However, when the straight-laced Jason is tricked into driving his foul-mouthed grandfather, Dick [Robert De Niro], to Daytona for spring break, his pending nuptials are suddenly in jeopardy. Between riotous frat parties, bar fights, and an epic night of karaoke, Dick is on a quest to live his life to the fullest and bring Jason along for the ride. Ultimately, on the wildest journey of their lives, "dirty" Grandpa and his uptight grandson discover they can learn from one another and form the bond they never had.
