Walt Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer Films have purchased Terry Rossio and Bill Marsilii's space adventure script Light Speed for a low-seven figures against $3.5 million.  Meaning, if the film gets made, they get a lot more money.  Bruckheimer envisions the project as a live-action and possible 3D movie.  Here's how Variety describes it:

Story centers on a young pilot who makes the Earth Interstellar Racing Team and must take his ship on a perilous journey across the galaxy on the brink of war.

The writers previously worked together on Deju-Vu, but Terry Rossio is better known as he's one of the key people behind the Pirates of the Caribbean movies and he came up with the story for the second National Treasure movie.   No word if the Millennium Falcon's is being used.
