New 60-second TV spots have been released for Django Unchained. For those unfamiliar with the film, Jamie Foxx stars as the titular Django, an escaped slave who goes to rescue his wife (Kerry Washington) from sadistic plantation owner Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio) by teaming up with bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz). These TV spots are in line with all the other ads we’ve seen, and it looks like The Weinstein Company is just about done showing off new footage, which is fine by me. While other potential Oscar-contenders like Zero Dark Thirty and Les Miserables have already begun to build buzz, Django still remains under wraps, although with yearly awards from critics’ groups closing in, the silence will break soon enough.
Hit the jump to check out the TV spots. The film also stars Samuel L. Jackson, M.C. Gainey, Walton Goggins, Garrett Dillahunt, Dennis Christopher, Gerald McRaney, Laura Cayouette, Don Johnson, and Tom Savini. Django Unchained opens on December 25th.
" I knew there was another movie to be made, and I had a sense of what it could be. There’s a story about friendship in here that can be really interesting, that also involves a road trip. Thematically, there was something interesting about that to me."
Which would you save? ‘Star Wars’ or ‘Star Trek’? Han Solo or Indiana Jones? ‘Game of Thrones’ or ‘Breaking Bad’? Watch as Jai Courtney, Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke, director Alan Taylor, and Skydance’s David Ellison and Dana Golberg are forced to choose.
