Rumor: Marvel Eyeing Joseph Gordon-Levitt to Star in DOCTOR STRANGE

     July 15, 2013

I don’t like calling out other sites, but I feel it’s important that our readers know that when we report on an “exclusive” from Latino Review, especially with regards to superhero news, the item must be taken with massive amounts of salt.  They used to have solid scoops, but their track record lately has become increasingly shoddy.  With all this in mind, the site is reporting that Marvel wants Joseph Gordon-Levitt to star in the likely Phase Three movie, Doctor StrangeThomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer‘s script reportedly calls for an actor in his early 30s.

Assuming this is true, it’s still not all that shocking that Marvel wants someone a little on the younger side so they can get him into more movies, and they want a recognizable, professional, star who won’t break the bank.  Gordon-Levitt fits that description, but even LR admits that these are just internal discussions for Marvel.  This isn’t even close to the negotiating table yet.  But if you think Gordon-Levitt is a great choice to play the Sorcerer Supreme, then you and Marvel Studios might be on the same page.
