Doctor Strange is taking a trip to Harmontown. Principal photography already wrapped months ago on the latest Marvel Studios movie starring Benedict Cumberbatch as the Sorcerer Supreme. However, Community creator and writer Dan Harmon has been hired to pen script pages to be used for reshoots.

THR was the first to report the news of Harmon joining Doctor Strange director Scott DerricksonC. Robert Cargill (Sinister), and Jon Spaihts (Prometheus) all of whom have contributed to the screenplay. Harmon is also not the first Community alum to work on the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Joe and Anthony Russo helmed episodes of the comedy series before going on to direct Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Civil War, and the next two Avengers movies.

Usually, reshoots aren’t a signifier of trouble. Especially with major blockbusters, it’s common for studios to schedule additional shooting days beyond principal photography, and Marvel has made this standard practice for all of their films—Captain America: Civil War had reshoots, as did Guardians of the Galaxy. It’s interesting, though, that Marvel chose Harmon. Might he be lending some more comedic breath to the story of Stephen Strange?

We’ve heard Derrickson talk about the supernatural and borderline horror aspects of the film, while the two trailers released so far don’t focus too much on the humor element expected from Marvel movies. In their defense, those elements may not be ready yet for the marketing campaign (or maybe Harmon will be adding more of it), but the one piece of standout humor is that gag about the wifi password from Chiwetel Ejiofor’s Baron Mordo.

Doctor Strange will tell Strange’s story from acclaimed neurosurgeon to Sorcerer Supreme. After losing the use of his hands in a car accident, he desperately searches for a cure, a journey that will lead him to Tibet where he encounters The Ancient One (Tilda Swinton) and her school of sorcery. A sneak peek at the film will be available on the Blu-ray release for Captain America: Civil War ahead of the theatrical debut on November 4th.
