In a teaming up of the old with the new, Quentin Tarantino has cast Miami Vice TV series star Don Johnson opposite Miami Vice crap movie star Jamie Foxx in Django Unchained. Showblitz reports that Johnson has been cast in the pic, though details on his role are unknown at this time. Foxx stars the titular Django, a freed slave to teams up with a German bounty hunter (Christoph Waltz) in order to rescue his wife from an evil plantation owner (Leonardo DiCaprio). The very Tarantino-esque cast thus far is nothing short of stellar, with Kurt Russell, M.C. Gainey, Dennis Christopher, Gerald McRaney, Laura Cayouette, and Samuel L. Jackson all poised to star. Production is set to get underway in New Orleans soon. Django Unchained opens December 25th, 2012.

    • I think that he’s calling the Miami Vice movie crap, not Jamie Foxx. and i have to to agree with Adam on this one, Miami Vice was shit

  2. I honestly dont get the hate toward Miami Vice the movie. Sure its not much like the t.v. series, but its still a badass movie. If you look at the movie as just a cop movie its pretty damn good. Just the way that movie is shot is stellar.

    • I take it you didn’t check out Machete last year? I didn’t like it that much, but Don Johnson was in it. Don Johnson also killed it in season 2 of Eastbound and Down as Kenny’s dad.

      • I agree. It was pretty much an homage to Tarantino, but made by someone with 1/10 of the talent of QT. Rodriguez is a very overrated filmmaker in my opinion.
