A racy new TV spot for Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s directorial debut Don Jon aired last night during MTV’s VMA’s, and it has now been released online for all to see.  Gordon-Levitt wrote, directed, and stars in the film as a contemporary, porn-addicted Don Juan-type who attempts to reform himself.  This new TV spot shows off a single clip from the film in which Gordon-Levitt’s character is trying to talk himself into Scarlett Johansson’s bedroom at the end of their date.  It’s a nice showcase of the film’s humor, and having seen the full pic at Sundance, I can attest that Don Jon definitely doesn’t skirt around issues related to sex and relationships.

Hit the jump to watch the TV spot.  The film also stars Julianne MooreTony DanzaGlenne Headly, Jeremy LukeRob Brown, and Brie Larson.  Don Jon opens in theaters on September 27th.

Here’s the official synopsis for Don Jon:

Jon Martello (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is a strong, handsome, good old-fashioned guy. His buddies call him Don Jon due to his ability to “pull” a different woman every weekend, but even the finest fling doesn’t compare to the bliss he finds alone in front of the computer watching pornography. Barbara Sugarman (Scarlett Johansson) is a bright, beautiful, good old-fashioned girl. Raised on romantic Hollywood movies, she’s determined to find her Prince Charming and ride off into the sunset. Wrestling with good old-fashioned expectations of the opposite sex, Jon and Barbara struggle against a media culture full of false fantasies to try and find true intimacy in this unexpected comedy written and directed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
