Could Community's Donald Glover save NBC?  Might as well give it a shot.  Though he has committed to a fourth season of Community, the writer, comedian and actor is already looking towards future projects, including a new comedy for the network that seems to have given him the keys to the kingdom.

Glover is in talks about developing a starring vehicle for himself with his former 30 Rock colleague Matt Hubbard.  The two worked together on that show when Glover was in the writer's room with Hubbard as a co-executive producer. As TV Guide reminds us, Glover has been busy lately not only by starring in Community but in headlining his own Comedy Central stand-up special Donald Glover: Weirdo, as well as being a writer and cast member in the film Mystery Team.  And let's not forget, of course, about his hip-hop alter ego, Childish Gambino.  Does the man sleep?

As for his project for NBC (which has nearly sealed the deal for a put-pilot, which is a strong financial commitment from the network), the sitcom is said to be loosely based on Glover's life.  The series certainly seems to have merit, since at the moment Glover can really do no wrong (and already has collaborative Emmys under his belt for his writing on 30 Rock).  High hopes for this one.

The new season of Community airs Friday, October 19th at 8:30 on NBC.
