Dwayne Johnson (Fast & Furious Six) has been tweeting out a lot of behind-the-scenes images and video from the set of Brett Ratner’s Hercules: The Thracian Wars. And I mean a lot. Today is no different as Johnson reveals a frame from his four-hour daily make-up routine, complete with battle scars that suggest he’s been involved in a few skirmishes (perhaps a particularly laborious one against a lion of legend?). The heroic look certainly lends itself to the film’s approach of a more realistic retelling of the mythological monster-slayer.
Hit the jump to check out the new image. The film also stars Ian McShane, Rufus Sewell, Joseph Fiennes, Peter Mullan, John Hurt, Rebecca Ferguson, Ingrid Bolso Berdal, Askel Hennie and Reece Ritchie. Hercules: The Thracian Wars opens on July 25, 2014.
