Dylan Dog: Dead of Night finally has a U.S. release date. Kevin Munroe’s adaptation of the Italian horror comic will be released on April 29th. Brandon Routh stars as the titular supernatural detective and co-stars Sam Huntington, Anita Briem, and Taye Diggs. The film is set to be released in Italy this month.
Heat Vision doesn’t mention how wide a release Dylan Dog is getting, but it will have some serious competition in the form of Universal’s Fast Five. It’s tough to sell comic book movies based on comics that most moviegoers in the U.S. has heard of, but it’s even harder when you’re up against the fifth-installment of the pre-packaged Fast & Furious franchise.

I’m glad this is finally getting a release, hopefully I’ll get to see it in a theater. I saw some of the rough scenes and I think a trailer, 2 years ago at SDCC. It looked really good, lots of chemistry with the cast members.
It will be a difficult movie to market, not only due to the competition for the weekend. Its horror like issues, but is not really a horror movie. More of an action movie.
