First up from Variety is news that Helms will join Stretch, a story about a “down-on-his-luck chauffeur (Wilson) looking to relieve his debt by driving around a mysterious billionaire who drags him to hell and back.” Helms will play a co-worker of the lead limo driver, which leaves Pine free to possibly play the billionaire. Having just wrapped The Hangover trilogy with The Hangover Part III earlier this year, Helms will next be seen in Rawson Marshall Thurber’s We’re the Millers. 2014 will see Helms in David Wain’s They Came Together and starring in the new Vacation sequel.
As for Disney’s live-action Cinderella picture, The Wrap reports that Grainger is in final talks to join the cast. She would be playing one of the three mean step-sisters to the title character, played by James. Madden plays Prince Charming with Blanchett starring as the evil step-mother.
Also from The Wrap comes word that Peck is in talks to join Imagine, a true story that centers on “an aging musician (Pacino) who is prompted by an old letter from John Lennon to give up his rockstar lifestyle and reconnect with the son (Cannavale) he has never met.” Garner stars as Pacino’s daughter-in-law, Annette Bening plays his love interest and Caine will portray his longtime manager. Peck’s deal would be as a hotel valet who Pacino encourages to go after the girl of his dreams.
