20th Century Fox has released a handful of new Eddie the Eagle images online. For those of you who aren’t up on your British Olympian history, the story focuses on Michael Edwards (Taron Egerton), who became the United Kingdom’s first Olympic ski jumper, and found fame and adoration despite finishing last in the 70-meter and 90-meter jumps at the 1988 Calgary Olympics.

Rather than just remake Cool Runnings, it sounds like director Dexter Fletcher seized on his own “lovable loser at the winter Olympics” tale, but perhaps that’s an oversimplification. The movie played yesterday at the 24-hour movie marathon Butt-Numb-A-Thon, and was well received by the crowd, and since Egerton is starring opposite Hugh Jackman, who plays Edwards’ coach, this sounds like it could be a nice spring film that deserves to be on your radar.

Check out the Eddie the Eagle images below via USA Today, and come back tomorrow to check out the trailer. The film opens February 26, 2016.
