Earlier this week I wrote about Pixar maybe taking over Edgar Wright's long in development "Ant-Man" adaptation. In that write up I speculated about a couple of things, since that is my job, but I while writing it I was hoping that the quote from EW, which started the rumor, was just a bunch of BS and that Wright would still be the man who would bring the at times little man to the big screen.  Thankfully, Edgar Wright has now cleared things up on "Ant-Man" and everyone who was hoping for a Wright directed "Ant-Man" can continue to anticipate the film.  You can read the full email after the jump.

Devin over at CHUD sent an email to Wright asking him to clear things up and here is the email which he got back from the director:

I am still attached to Ant Man and indeed am still working on a second draft with Joe Cornish. That had to take a back seat while I worked on Scott Pilgrim, but am keen to get back into it once I get into post.

Concerning the recent news about Pixar:

The news that Pixar is involved is not wholly accurate and a little premature to comment on. I love Pixar's work more than anyone and indeed would love to collaborate with them.

I'm not sure though that they would want to do a 'shrinking' film as a Pixar animation - since Toy Story and A Bug's Life already cover this territory to some extent. Am guessing that someone just speculated on the 'bug' angle and tried to put two and two together.

I don't know what else to write other than a "yay!" and a "phew!" since those were basically my reactions after reading the email.  Wright continues to say the right things and continues to get me hyped up for the film.  Describing his take on the character as being "a genre film within the superhero genre" sounds pretty awesome and great to me.  I just hope he really does get to it one day.
