Brian Petsos, Oscar Isaac, Elijah Wood, Adam Brody, Kristen Wiig, More to Star in REVENGE FOR JOLLY!

     September 7, 2011

Atlas Independent is new to the filmmaking game, but they’re off to a good start with the supporting cast for their first feature Revenge for Jolly!.  Brian Petsos stars as the owner of a dog who died under suspicious circumstances.  He and his cousin “follow a series of clues in an attempt to track down the dog’s murderer, leaving a path of destruction in their wake.”  Oscar Isaac plays the cousin; Elijah Wood, Adam Brody, Ryan Phillippe, Kristen Wiig, David Rasche, Kevin Corrigan, Garret Dillahunt, Bobby Moynihan, and Gillian Jacobs also star.  That’s a cast I trust with this absurdist premise.

Director Chadd Harbold wrapped the sub-$10 million production in August.  For more info on Revenge for Jolly! and Atlas Independent’s mission statement, read the full press release after the jump.

LOS ANGELES, CA, September 7, 2011 –Atlas Independent, the newly-formed affiliate company of Charles Roven’s Atlas Entertainment makes its debut with the feature film, REVENGE FOR JOLLY!, directed by Chadd Harbold. Atlas Independent produced the film which recently wrapped production in August. Brian Petsos wrote the script and stars in the dramatic dark comedy. Atlas Independent’s William Green and Aaron Ginsburg produce with Brian Petsos and his company A Saboteur. Harbold directs a cast that in addition to Petsos includes Oscar Isaac, Elijah Wood, Adam Brody, Ryan Phillippe, Kristen Wiig, David Rasche, Kevin Corrigan, Garret Dillahunt, Bobby Moynihan, and Gillian Jacobs. Atlas’ Alan Glazer executive produces the project along with Chris Wilmot, Michael Wunderman, Peter Fruchtman and Dan Berk.

REVENGE FOR JOLLY! follows a man (Petsos) who, with the help of his cousin (Oscar Isaac), seeks to avenge the death of his beloved dog, who was killed under confusing and suspicious circumstances. The two men follow a series of clues in an attempt to track down the dog’s murderer, leaving a path of destruction in their wake.

Led by William Green, Atlas Independent is focused on the development and production of films budgeted under $10 million. The company was created as a way to foster and develop new talent as well as encourage new voices and stories.

“We saw REVENGE FOR JOLLY! as the perfect film to launch the Atlas Independent brand. Great cast, edgy script and a young talented director,” said Green. “We are bringing the integrity and producing skills of Atlas Entertainment to the independent landscape. This enables us to produce these movies at the highest quality. It’s the truest way to support talent who want to work in this budget range.”

“William and Aaron were among the first people to read this script. They had a clear understanding of what I was trying to achieve from the very beginning. And more importantly, they were excited about it,” said Petsos. “Atlas, as a whole, has been tremendously supportive of me, and I couldn’t ask for a better group of collaborators. I look forward to making more films with them in the future, and I’m very excited for audiences to see what we’ve created with REVENGE FOR JOLLY!”
