Even though Joss Whedon dubbed Saoirse Ronan (Hanna) his Scarlet Witch “prototype” back in May, news surfaced in August that he had moved on to Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May Marlene) for the role in The Avengers: Age of Ultron.  Despite the fact that there were reports that Olsen was in final negotiations for the part, Marvel has yet to confirm her casting.  However, just the other month, Olsen’s Oldboy co-star, Samuel L. Jackson, came right out and said, “… we added Ms. [Elizabeth] Olsen [who will play the Scarlet Witch].”  Although everything points to Olsen having snagged the part of Wanda Maximoff, one half of the brother-sister duo, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, Marvel still hasn’t made it official.

While talking to the actress for her November 27th release, Oldboy, Collider got the chance to add yet another bullet point to the list of items suggesting Olsen did indeed get the part. Continued after the jump.

Even though she did make an effort not to spill any details, Olsen certainly didn’t deny her involvement either. When asked whether or not she’s been reading up on the character, Olsen came right out and said:

“It’s so fun. I’m having a great time. I’m having so much fun. I just feel like a little kid right now. I love it. I am a little kid, but I feel even more like one.”

When we probed for more details and asked if there’s a specific Scarlet Witch storyline she’s hoping to work with, Olsen admitted:

“I don’t know if I can – I don’t know. I’m just not gonna say anything about it because I’m like terrified of saying anything that I shouldn’t.”

So while Olsen didn’t outright say, “I’m Scarlet Witch,” her answers certainly don’t imply otherwise. Now that both Olsen’s casting and Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s for Quicksilver are as close to confirmed as they come without being officially confirmed, hopefully Marvel will finally make an announcement that the pair is locked in.
