In the acting business since the age of 10, Ellen Page (Inception) will make her directorial debut with Miss Stevens.  Written by Julia Hart (The Keeping Room), Miss Stevens will star Anna Faris (The House Bunny) in the title role.  The picture centers on the titular drama teacher whose life has hit a bit of a rough patch, but who rediscovers her self worth while chaperoning a group of high school students over a weekend trip to the state drama competition.  Hit the jump for more.

anna-faris-miss-stevensDeadline reports that Page will be behind the camera for the first time with Miss Stevens, a picture to be produced by Gilbert Films and Anonymous Content.  Not to worry, Page will still be seen on screen, with the upcoming Zal Batmanglij film The East and Peter Sollett’s drama Freeheld expected to open this year.  Page has further branched out into video games, doing motion capture for the upcoming Quantic Dream property Beyond: Two Souls.  She’ll also reprise her role as Kitty Pryde in Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Meanwhile, Faris, who most recently starred in the ensemble comedy Movie 43, will next star in writer/director Dan Mazer’s I Give It a Year, followed by voice work in Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2.  Faris will also transition onto the small screen in the Chuck Lorre-produced CBS pilot Mom, in which she will play a sober single mom who attempts to turn her life around in the Napa Valley.
