We already gave you a list of the winners from the 62nd Annual Primetime Emmys (Link 8), but if the ceremony was just nominees being read and awards being handed out then the telecast wouldn’t be over three hours long would it? So to follow-up, we’ve put together some of the highlights form the show itself complete with video for your hungry eyes and ears. Below you’ll find a great comedic bit featuring the cast of Modern Family receiving some advice on how to make their next season even more hilarious. Remedies include George Clooney and Family Guy’s Stewie Griffin as new cast members and even the use of 3-D to show off Sofia Vergara’s…talents. In addition there’s a couple great acceptance speeches and other laughs to be had just below the jump.
First of all, the normally boring role of the announcer who speaks while the winners walk up to the stage was filled by comedian John Hodgman who had plenty of quips and witticisms to keep things hilarious. Over at Vulture they’ve posted every single one of his gems including, “Eric Stonestreet hails from Kansas, and reports that while growing up, he wanted to be a disc jockey, a Marine, a prison administrator and a clown. Apparently that is all one job in Kansas.”
Jimmy Fallon, Glee cast members, Tina Fey, Jorge Garcia, Jon Hamm, Joel McHale and more open the show with a special rendition of Bruce Springsteen’s Born to Run

And to go along with Modern Family’s hilarious bit, here’s Eric Stonestreet, winner of Oustanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series who is shocked and delighted to be winning so much that he even looks somewhat lost on stage.
—
Just before presenting an award, here’s Ricky Gervais lightening things up a bit by having waiters hand out some beers to get the party started. Look out for a brief moment around the 1:41 mark where the rehabilitated Matthew Perry hilariously but politely refuses a beer (the look on his face is priceless).

Bryan Cranston once again humbly accepts his three-peat as Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series for his fine work on Breaking Bad

Happy that Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul & Eric Stonestreet all won, but nothing for Lost was a bit sad.
Yeah… I was really hoping they’d give Lost something due to it not having another chance. But the best part was when they asked the creators of Lost what’s the weirdest note they got from the studio and it was about “having a 6-toed statue”.
Ricky Gervais is absolutely awesome he always cracks me up. Brits are the best, fellas
