RZA Punches Out an Eyeball as THE MAN WITH THE IRON FISTS; Plus First Images of Hemsworth and Johnson in EMPIRE STATE

Tonight brings the first images from a pair of upcoming films.  The first is notable because of the cast.  The second is notable because it involves punching an eye out of someone’s face.

  • Dwayne Johnson and Liam Hemsworth play two friends who rob an armored car company in Empire State, directed by Dito Monteil (Fighting).
  • RZA will make his directorial debut on the kung fu picture The Man with the Iron Fists; RZA plays a blacksmith who must defend a small village in feudal China, which requires some eyeball punching.

Empire State is an indie production based on the true story of a 1982 NYC armored car company robbery that was thought to be the largest cash heist in U.S. history.  Kevin Hart and Emma Roberts co-star.  Images via Deadline:

Okay, this is where real the fun is.  RZA tweeted, “GIVING U 1ST LOOK AT SNAP SHOT OF MY TRAILER ‘IRON FIST’ COMIN N 2 DAYS” along with the delightful image below.  Russell CrowePam Grier, Jamie Chung, and Lucy Liu star alongside RZA in the $20 million production.  Quentin Tarantino and Eli Roth are producing.  Look for the trailer later this week.

  2. Ok. RZA is serious, I’m going to watch this movie. As a resident in China that saw glimpses of his film being shot…I’m REALLY excited.

  3. I don’t know what bothers me more…the flying eyeball or the fact that Liam looks WAY older than his 22 years
