Jamie Foxx has signed on to star in "The Zebra Murders: A Season of Killing, Racial Madness, and Civil Rights". Fox News disapproves of one of these things. Guess which one.
Based off the 2006 book by Prentice Earl Sanders and Bennett Cohen, "Zebra Murders" is based off the investigation of black-on-white serial killings that occurred in San Francisco in 1973 and 1974. Foxx will play Sanders, who along with his partner, faced discrimination from the SFPD, organized a union of minority policemen, sued the city for discrimination, won that case, and later became Chief of Police. Oh, and spoiler alert: he solved the Zebra Murders as well. Simply put, he's better than you.
I want to say I have faith in Matt Carnahan's adaptation of the book, but I don't know what to think of the guy. He's credited with both "The Kingdom", a smart, thoughtful action-procedural and with "Lions for Lambs", which is currently the worst film I've seen all year. If anyone could explain the discrepancy to me, I'd appreciate it.
