one more thing Matt
Im not sure if you are a comic reader or not, but "magic bullet" is not just made up for the movie. In the comics the "real version" of agent zero had an admantium bullet he was going to shoot logan with in the head to "kill" him. The fact it would cause amnesia is not far fetched either as Logan stabbed Sabretooth in the head once and that caused Sabretooth amnesia. These ideas were introduced in the comics so I dont see them being so "harsh". Maybe bad for people that dont know this, but then again we are talking about a movie where guys have lasers coming out of their eyes, women turn to diamonds. And Deadpool regenerated from just a hand once too, so putting himself back together doesnt seem far fetched to anyone who stuck to the comics.......but the weapon x1 abilities was "different".

Dont agree
I would take the review more seriously if you didnt say Elektra or Punisher were better. I saw the movie last night. A) its a movie, not the actual comic continuuity. Yes there were changes and yes Deadpool was not the deadpool we know. My first response is, its a wolverine movie about a guy with healing powers and claws. Im not expecting Hamlet or Shakespeare. I enjoyed the movie because of the action, the acting and "some" of the effects. I wasnt going through this movie with a fine tooth comb, because I went to enjoy the movie , not find all of its faults. People who have no idea about wolverine or the other characters will like this. Fanboys will hate it. Average people will be ok with it. Eberts review of this was pretty much biased on the fact that its not "real".

Dead to rights
Yep, yes, ok, correct. This movie was doomed when they failed to respect the characters, plain and simple. There is absolutely no respect given to Deadpool or Maverick, NONE! I would say total abomination but that's not even doing this trainwreck justice. As a 20 year comic book reader/fan it was painful to watch this 'film'. Pretty much everything (costume, vibe, presence) that made each character unique was thrown aside in favor of fucking trash. I wonder how hard Marvel is killing themselves for ever aligning with Fox. It's rare that a movie would blatantly tell the fan base to fuck off by warping the characters as much as Hood did in Wolverine. As you've shown here one could write a 50 page thesis on how screwed up this move is but I would like to pose one question; Why wasn't this movie just titled 'Wolverine'? It makes no sense to me as to why the studio felt they really needed to create a title set that included 'X-Men Origins'. In terms of character recognition Wolverine has to be up there with Batman and Superman. EVERYONE knows Wolverine, he's in more comic books per month than any other character, more than Spiderman! There was no need to create this 'Origins' crap for this movie. Wolverine has more story to draw upon than almost any other character and yet they completely disregard quality backstory for this shit of a plot. Absolute disappointment, especially after Iron Man. I really thought the days of crappy superhero movies were finally behind us. XMOW proved me wrong.
